Mangrove planting continues in the new normal
June 19. Poblacion, Badian, Cebu. The People's Organization Dungguan-Atob Fisherfolk Association (DAFA) and Lady Riders Club Philippines - Cebu Chapter (LRCP-CC) planted a nursery grown mangroves in Poblacion, Badian last June 19, 2021 (Saturday). Located approximately 104 kilometers away from Cebu City. A total of 1,080 individuals of Rhizophora mucronata (about 90-cm tall) were planted, and the planting activity was spearheaded by Dr. Abner Barnuevo, Manager of KPGreenEarth. The planting site is one of the designated areas allocated by the Department of Natural Resources (DENR) Region 7 and Ta?on Strait Protected Seascape (TSPS) to DAFA for mangrove rehabilitation in collaboration with the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program of Kanepackage Group of Companies.
