Kanepackage donates learning resources and supplies to Villarica High School
Kanepackage Group donated school supplies, learning materials and equipment to Villarica High School on June 3, 2019. The recipient is a public high school with a student population of almost 1,000 located in Midsayap, North Cotabato in central Mindanao. A short program was held during the turnover of the said items. Ms. Evangeline Ortillo, a Vice President of Kanepackage Philippine, Inc. and Ms. Caterine Santiago, Mr. Robert Esporas and Mr. Abner Barnuevo from KPGroup Philippines, Inc. were present to personally distribute the school supplies and challenged the student to work hard in achieving their goals and dreams in life.
The Joy of Gift-giving.
The Kanepackage Group of Companies, once again, shared the simple joy of gift-giving. The team led the annual activities on separate dates. A total of Four Hundred Thirteen (413) children in Negros Oriental, Bohol and Olango Island received toys and Jollibee meals from the Kanepackage Group of Companies during Christmas parties, after the global tradition of exchanging gifts. Gift-giving started at Manipis day care center (Negros Oriental) on December 12, 2018. An intern student from Saitama University named Kunimasa Shoji joined this year's gift sharing. Tears of joy were traced from the children and their parents' faces as they received gifts. Last December 14, 2018, the team traveled to Banacon Elementary School (Bohol). Representatives from KPPI Laguna, KPPI-Cebu and SFLI were present during the activity. Students represented by each grade showed off their talent in dancing, accompanied by their teachers. On to the last leg of bringing smiles to each children, the team went to San Vicente day care school (Olango). A Christmas party was also held on December 19, 2018. Parents and their children showcased their talent by singing and dancing. Every year parents, students, and teachers look forward to receive gifts no matter how big or small from Kanepackage Group of Companies. This is to show that happiness can be shared in many ways without looking at its value. It is the sharing and being kind to one another are what matters most.
KP Mangrove Planting-Phase 20.
Barangay Poblacion, Pantalan, Badian. The expansion of mangrove rehabilitation areas for coastal and marine biodiversity is important to preserve marine resources. In advancing the sustainable use and conservation of coastal marine resources, mangrove replanting is one of the effective strategies and management to combat the adverse effect of climate change, coastal eutrophication and overfishing through anthropogenic activities. The Kanepackage Group of Companies affiliates planted mangroves at Pantalan, Barangay Poblacion, Badian (Southwest Cebu) together with the local people's organization group Dungguan Fisherfolk Association last February 10, 2019. A total of fourteen (14) enthusiastic KP affiliates were present. KPJP-2, KPPI-Laguna-6, SFLI-2, KPPI-Cebu-1 and KPG-3. The team planted a total of 2,000 Rhizophora sp. Mangroves play an important role in terms of coastal protection, nursery grounds and food sources for fishes, crustaceans and shellfishes. To effectively increase the survival of mangroves, proper planting technique was also followed by the team as they planted mangrove seedlings measured about 70-100 centimeters (cm) in height.
